What color granite goes with dark cherry cabinets.?
I always loved the black granite with dark cherry furniture, but now I fear it will be too dark. I think I should go with a lighter granite. I think black galaxy is too dark, but there is a tanning cranberry / Brown highlights cranberry in closets. The background of granite is a mixture of black and some gray. Please help. I do not know what to do. Also what color paint should I use for cooking? It has white wood, large bay window and a slider. The room is the length of the back of the house (south side). (much sun)
You should go to the granite supplier and get samples or individual squares of color that you envision. There are few blacks with another color in them as a cool brown might look very good relationship with your cabinets. Perhaps that is what you describe as cranberry tan / brown. Bring home the different samples and live with them a few days next cabinet. Since you have lots of sun, you can afford to go dark, but you want some relief, perhaps, appliances stainless steel, in addition to the white woodwork. You can Customize a wall of color by playing with different combinations of formulas to reach just the right color to tie in the color of the cabinet, color in the granite and the floor.
