Why don; stores flooring will not sell solid wood in California?

I understand that plywood must pass over in solid wood, but all dealers are trying to dissuade me from it! Most houses here are built on concrete and they sell solid wood, then what is the problem? This is really starting to bother me that engineering can be just as expensive!

They do not want to sell it to you because they do no more profits when they sell cheep crap. Do not let them make you change your mind.
